About Vihan :

Vihan is a Partner at the Firm, having over a decade of experience in practicing IP, IT and Media and Entertainment laws. His core practice areas are commercial litigation, transactional and advisory in the IP and TMT domains. He is an alumnus of Campus Law Centre, Delhi University and is registered with the Bar Council of Delhi.

Vihan regularly advises and represents leading clients in the technology, internet, music, e-commerce and telecommunications sectors. He advises and represents clients in complex and high-stakes disputes at the intersection of IP and technology, while also advising on commercial contracts, policy and regulatory matters in the media and entertainment sector. His practice encompasses both contentious and non-contentious aspects of IP and media entertainment law, including enforcement, content licensing and strategic portfolio management of copyright protected works in the music domain.

Vihan regularly advises and represents a leading multinational technology company in high stakes, industry defining litigations which deal with the scope of trademark rights in online keyword advertising. He advises a well-known international over-the-top (OTT) streaming service in respect of content policy and regulatory frameworks pertaining to music and non-music content. He advises and represents a global telecommunication company in negotiating and structuring a global trademark dispute settlement with a leading Indian electrical company. He advises and represents a leading international digital music rights distribution company in litigations pertaining to defamation and content moderation policies and also advises the company on a range of copyright issues in the Indian music landscape. He further represents a range of copyright owners and content distributors in structuring and negotiating content acquisition and licensing deals across various modes and mediums such as internet, digital, OTT services and mobile platforms.

He actively participates in various national and international IP, technology and entertainment law conferences and engages in panel discussions on cutting edge subjects such as IP implications around data protection and privacy. Vihan is also additionally involved in academic initiatives such as conducting webinars and knowledge sharing sessions, judging moot court competitions and writing, mentoring and engaging in discussions with colleagues and the wider legal community on IP and technology related themes.
