Essenese Obhan is the founding partner of Obhan Mason. He is an Intellectual Property attorney registered with the Bar Council of India and a Patent Agent with a degree in mechanical engineering. Essenese has vast expertise in the mechanical, pharmaceutical, software and telecom sectors.

Ashima Obhan heads the Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practice at Obhan Mason and is equally active in Finance and Real Estate.

Neel Mason is an alumni from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore and had been practicing Intellectual Property Law for over 25 years.

Shweta Mehta is an experienced Intellectual Property lawyer based in Belgium, with over five years of consulting and advisory experience across Europe and India.

Aparna oversees the Patent filing department of the Firm. She conducts searches, drafts patent specifications and prosecutes them at the Indian Patent Office. She also works on patent opposition proceedings, patent litigation matters and regularly advise clients on IP strategy.

Vrinda has expertise in contract drafting and contract negotiations. She focuses on various commercial and corporate law matters and is experienced in dealing with all types of corporate transactions.

Sneha has experience for over a decade and works closely with clients, providing a full range of commercially focused patent and design services including drafting and prosecution of patent applications, prosecution of design application, opposition, freedom-to-operate advice and legal opinion. She regularly advises clients on IP strategy.

Akanksha has rich experience in advising on general corporate matters, with special focus on acquisitions, private investments, joint ventures, and inbound and outbound investments to and from India. She focuses on diverse areas of Corporate Commercial law and regularly represents and advises a variety of clients including companies engaged in sectors such as technology, media and entertainment, automobile, consumer products etc., on various matters including, regulatory advisory, corporate governance issues and contractual support.

Vihan is a Partner at the Firm, having over a decade of experience in practicing IP, IT and Media and Entertainment laws. His core practice areas are commercial litigation, transactional and advisory in the IP and TMT domains. He is an alumnus of Campus Law Centre, Delhi University and is registered with the Bar Council of Delhi.

Ekta Sharma is an experienced IP and commercial dispute lawyer. She regularly appears before the Delhi High Court and district courts in complex civil and commercial matters involving intermediary liability, intellectual property enforcement, and technology law.

Mehak is a Partner at Obhan Mason, India. She works closely with several Fortune 500 companies, universities, start-ups, domestic and international clients across varied industries in protecting and enforcing their IP. Her expertise and specialties include prosecution, infringement litigation and portfolio management; and working out amicable resolutions/settlements in contentious proceedings. She is also actively involved in the litigation matters in courts, appellate tribunals, and boards for trademarks matters.

Arzu is a Associate Partner with the Firm, with over a decade of experience in data protection, technology law and intellectual property. She advises Indian and international clients on navigating complex legal and regulatory frameworks, ensuring compliance with data protection laws including the DPDP Act and GDPR, and brings a nuanced understanding or emerging technologies and digital risk.

Ayesha is a part of the litigation team at the firm and focuses on IP rights, primarily trademark, patent and design rights. She is experienced in research and legal drafting, and predominantly focuses on litigation, research and strategic advice.

Chethan is an experienced Intellectual Property Attorney and a registered Patent Agent with over 15 years of overall work experience. He has significant experience in handling all IP related matters including, but not limited to, patent drafting and prosecution, patent valuation, patent landscaping, patent infringement analysis, and so forth. In his career so far, he has drafted over 200 patent applications and prosecuted over 500 patent applications in India and other jurisdictions. He has built his domain expertise in several fields including, mechanical, software, electronics & telecommunications, and new technologies such as blockchain, cryptocurrency, machine learning, and AI. Chethan also assists and advises startups and independent inventors on matters related to protection of IP.

Harshal has been advising clients on various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights. At present, his work profile includes Patent Drafting, Patent Prosecution, Patent Opposition and Revocation, and Patent Litigation. He has worked on wide range of technologies related to Telecommunication, Computers, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, and Instrumentation. Harshal has also worked on the matters related to standard essential patents (SEP) and has exposure to various standards, for example, IEEE and 3GPP.

Khyati Kantawala holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University of London and a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Amity Law School, Noida.

Meera is a Patent Attorney. She has completed her Master’s in Law (LL.M) and Bachelor’s in Law (LLB) and Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics and Communication. She has extensive experience in US Patent Law and specializes in Patent Application Drafting, Prosecution, and Analytics. She has drafted and prosecuted several patent applications in various domains such as Software, Telecommunications, AI/ML, Mechanical, VLSI, Biomedical, etc. in various jurisdictions including India, US, and EP. She also has experience in building and managing IP Portfolios for startups and MNCs alike. In addition, she has worked closely with several independent inventors and entrepreneurs to help build their IP portfolio and assist them through various IP-related issues. 

Neha is a patent attorney with over a decade of experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree in physics, master’s in law and is also a registered patent agent. Neha primarily handles patent prosecution and opposition and also assists in patent drafting in the areas of mechanical, electrical, electronics and telecommunications engineering. She has advised many Fortune 500 companies and has successfully prosecuted large patent portfolios and regularly appears before the Indian Patent office for opposition hearings.

Prashant’s practice area primarily focuses on patent drafting and prosecution, infringement analysis, patent validity, and so forth. As an IP enthusiast, he has worked on technologies related to the field of mechanical, heavy machines, electro-mechanical, optical communication, internet of things, and metallurgy.

Sapna specialises in patent drafting and prosecution in India and other jurisdictions in areas of pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, material chemistry, pharmaceutical composition, medical devices, inkjet printing, laminates, metallurgical processes and compositions. She also assists on patent oppositions, appeals and revocation proceedings.

Yogita is an enrolled advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi and is a part of the litigation/ disputes team at Obhan Mason. She has vast experience of drafting, research and appearing before various Courts and Tribunals in India in a wide range of civil and commercial matters. She specializes in Intellectual Property Laws (Trademarks, Copyrights, Patents & Designs), Arbitration and other Commercial Laws. She has previously worked as a Judicial Law Researcher to a Sitting Judge of the Delhi High Court and is keen on utilizing her expertise from the role in her current role.

Akanksha primarily focuses on all aspects of trademark and copyright advisory, including prosecution, oppositions, enforcement, formalities, and portfolio management. She is also actively engaged in advising clients on brand adoption, risk assessment for brand launches, commercialization, brand conflict resolution, coexistence agreements, and general trademark and copyright advisory. She has appeared for multiple clients before the Trademarks Office. She represents both Indian and international clients across various industries, including but not limited to consumer care, lifestyle brands, retail, IT, software, automotive, hospitality, and e-commerce.

Aparna is part of the Corporate Law practice of Obhan Mason and focuses on various commercial and corporate law matters. Aparna’s work includes drafting and reviewing contracts required by businesses for their day-to day functioning and she is also involved in undertaking legal due diligences.

Priyanka is an associate with the corporate law team at Obhan Mason. She specializes in corporate and commercial advisory, and contract drafting. She assists clients in navigating the complex legal landscape with valuable insights on the legal and regulatory requirements. She also has vast experience in the publishing industry, which has equipped her with a unique perspective in helping clients navigate the complex legal scenarios.

Shivani Choudhary holds a B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and has extensive experience in patents and designs. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights and an LL.B., and is enrolled with the Bar. Additionally, Shivani is a Registered Patent Agent with the Government of India. Her strong technical foundation, combined with legal expertise, enables her to deliver comprehensive and practical IP solutions, particularly in complex patent and design matters.

Shuchi is a Senior Associate with the firm, advising clients on a range of media and entertainment, technology, regulatory, transactional, and general corporate law matters. She has advised a number of news broadcasters and publishing houses on publication related and industry specific issues. Her work includes contract drafting, pre-publication content reviews, and licensing arrangements.

Ms. Shweta Sood holds a Bachelor of Arts and Law degree from JEMTEC School of Law, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, and was admitted to the Bar in 2021. Shweta was associated with Obhan Mason and has also worked as an IP Associate at a leading Delhi law firm. In this role, she primarily managed trademark prosecution matters, including oppositions, rectifications, cancellations, domain name disputes, and representation before the Indian Trade Marks Registry.

Siddharth’s practice area primarily focuses on Patent Analytics, Prosecution, and Drafting. He has a good understanding of technologies in the mechanical domain, especially in the field of automotive, heavy machines, energy systems, design, automated systems, etc.

Udit is a part of the litigation team at the firm and focuses on disputes pertaining to Intellectual Property primarily focusing on (a) Trade Mark, (b) Copyright, and (c) Patent rights. Further, he also specialises in disputes related to Information Technology (focusing on intermediary liability). He is experienced in research, legal drafting, and predominantly focuses on litigation, research and strategic advice.

Ujjawal is part of the litigation team at the firm and at the firm handles various disputes relating to intellectual property laws, including but not limited to copyright law, trademark laws, patent laws, geographical indications, Information Technology laws amongst various other laws. As part of the firm, he also handles commercial transactions for various clients. He has been appearing for various clients before the Delhi High Court, district courts in Delhi and has experience of drafting, research etc.

Vivek’s practice area primarily focuses on patent analytics, prosecution, and drafting. He has a good understanding of technologies in the mechanical domain, such as heavy machinery, engine systems, autonomous machines, electric machines, etc.

Aakanksha Singh is a corporate lawyer at Obhan Mason, where she advises and assists on a broad range of general corporate and transactional matters. Divyaansh Dulles in an Associate in the Firm's Corporate Law team. His practice focuses on M&A, private equity, general corporate advisory, employment laws and a broad range of commercial contracts. He advises clients on legal due diligence, regulatory issues, and drafting and review of transaction documents and a wide range of commercial agreements.

Gargi is a Registered Indian Patent Agent with 5.5 years of experience in the field of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
